An early intervention therapy based on natural play and daily routines, the ESDM has been developed through the empirical knowledge of child learning and development, as well as the challenges influenced by autism spectrum disorder. The model supports individualised social, cognitive and language learning that is continually monitored and altered by your therapist.

A program that combines ESDM teaching principles and objectives with all things dance. Designed alongside Triple Threat Riverina to incorporate developmental consideration, inclusive practice, participation, neuro-affirming environments, and social support.
Explore specific challenges faced by your child and develop an individualised plan of action that suits your lifestyle and daily routines. Be coached through play and behavioural techniques that you can implement into your home to extend your child’s therapy experience, and strengthen your relationship. Home visits may also be beneficial to identify potential barriers in the home environment and suggestions for modification.
A variety of assessments and data collection strategies can be completed to demonstrate a child’s current abilities and difficulties in several developmental areas. Assessments available include, but are not limited to:
· Early Start Denver Model Curriculum Checklist
· Pragmatic Profile
· Communication Matrix
· Communication and Symbolic Behaviour Scales
· Functional analysis (eg. Motivation assessment scale, ABC checklist)
Change and unpredictability can be challenging for children with autism spectrum disorder. For transitions such as beginning early childhood services and primary school, Spectrum can support a child through these changes by first creating an individual profile and vision statement in collaboration with the child and their family members. An individualised transition plan is then designed and implemented, incorporating evidence-based strategies and tools to help the child transition with ease.
Explore environments such as the home or early childhood service with consideration for a child’s individual characteristics, including their sensory profile and behaviours associated with their diagnosis.
Work collaboratively with a therapist, family members and other individuals who care for a child to explore undesirable behaviours that a child may exhibit. Identify their intended purpose in order to appropriately replace the behaviours, and create a plan to deescalate incidents in crisis.
