Each child's therapy journey will differ, however a standard experience may entail:
Typically children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years are able to access Spectrum's services. However if your child is over the age of 6 and displaying gaps in their development, Spectrum can perform an assessment to determine whether therapy services are able to effectively support their needs.
A referral is not needed to enrol in Spectrum services, however if your NDIS funding is plan managed this may be required by your agency.
Each appointment is 60 minutes. Your child will be in a session for 45 minutes, the therapist then reports and analyses data for 15 minutes.
The cost involved for your services will vary depending on the support you are receiving from Spectrum. Please contact us to discuss your individual needs and associated costs.
An important aspect of the therapy is building a relationship between the child and therapist. To build this rapport it is more effective for parents or carers to be absent from the playroom, however transition periods may be required to ensure your child feels comfortable and secure.
All play equipment and tools will be provided by Spectrum, unless a specific tool is required for your child, for example sensory or regulation accessories. If any additional items are necessary your therapist will notify you.
